AFRIWAG Participates in the 2025 Annual Non-Governmental Organizations Conference
Dodoma, Tanzania — August 11–13, 2025
The African Women AIDS Working Group (AFRIWAG) joined hundreds of other non-governmental organizations from across Tanzania and beyond to participate in the 2025 Annual Non-Governmental Organizations Conference, held at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre in Dodoma.
Organized by the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities) in collaboration with the National Council of Non-Governmental Organizations (NaCoGo), the conference aimed to strengthen collaboration, share experiences, and enhance the effectiveness of social and development projects across the country.
AFRIWAG’s Participation
As an organization dedicated to advocating for the rights, health, and development of women, particularly those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, AFRIWAG played an active role in the conference’s discussions and activities. The AFRIWAG team participated in:
- Panel discussions on community health and gender equality.
- Capacity-building workshops on accountability and effective project management.
- Exhibitions showcasing AFRIWAG’s achievements and community projects, including education and women’s economic empowerment programs.
AFRIWAG’s Statement

“This conference is a great opportunity to strengthen our network with other organizations, exchange ideas, sharing experiences, adopt new strategies and learn best practices to achieve our social mission.
