The African Women Aids Working Group (AFRIWAG) is a dedicated National Non-Governmental Organization established in 1994 and officially registered in 1997. Based in Tanga, Tanzania, AFRIWAG has been at the forefront of addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, youth, and older people. With a mission rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment, we aim to create sustainable solutions that improve health, education, and social protection for those in need

Our efforts span across 11 councils in the Tanga region, where we collaborate with communities, government entities, and partners to provide integrated health services, educational opportunities, and economic empowerment initiatives. Guided by our core values—community-centered approaches, equality, transparency, and respect—we are committed to ensuring dignity and sustainability for all.
